Insights is HealthStream's new centralized reporting hub created to solve our customer's biggest pain points with current reporting. 

The first phase of Insights development will focus on replacing the reports found on the HealthStream System's “Reports” page. 

Insights is able to provide several advantages over current reporting:

• More Frequent Data Updates: HealthStream System report data updates once every 24 hours. Insights data currently refreshes every 3 hours. 
• Run Larger Reports: Insights' more robust data engine will allow for larger reports to be run compared to HealthStream System Reports
• Custom Report Builder: Build your own custom report from scratch for reporting scenarios where a standard report doesn't provide what you need.
• More Flexible Standard Reports: Ability to add additional columns to your report, ability to apply a filter to any column in your report, etc.
• Better Scheduled Report Management: Admins can be provided with visibility to all scheduled reports across their organization, download prior report runs, "Run Now" capability, ability to change the schedule or recipients

Additional Standard Reports, Custom Report Datasets, and Application Features will continue to be released as development is completed!

To ensure a smooth transition and allow your organization time to get familiar with Insights, there will be a 12-month transition period after an Insights report comes out where users can still utilize the HealthStream System’s reports it’s replacing. 

Note: The 12-month transition period won't begin until all customers have been onboarded to Insights. Transition dates will be communicated on the HealthStream Learning Center's report page once the transition period begins.

Once a user has been given the Insights Administrator Role in the HealthStream System (see “Adding and Managing Users”), the user can access Insights by clicking the Insights link in the HLC's App Drawer.

NOTE: There will be up to a 3-hour delay after a user is granted the Insights Administrator Role before they can successfully access Insights through the App Drawer.

Insights features Federated Single Sign-On from the HealthStream System which provides several benefits related to user management:

• No additional login is required to access Insights when a user clicks the Insights link in the HealthStream System's App Drawer
• The data a user can see in Insights will match the HealthStream System
  • If you are an Admin at Hospital A then your data visibility in Insights will be limited to Hospital A
• Inactivating an Admin in the HealthStream System will automatically inactivate the Admin in Insights
  • Insights will recognize when an Admin has been inactivated and the Admin will not be able to access Insights. No additional work is required.
