Bulk Editing User Permissions

Bulk Editing
Bulk editing allows you to update multiple users' permissions simultaneously.
IMPORTANT: Bulk editing is a serious action that cannot be reversed. The selections made will OVERWRITE the users' existing permissions.
To bulk edit user permissions, navigate to Settings → Users.
On the Users page, select more than one user to expose the “Bulk Edit” option. Click “Bulk Edit” to open the Edit Users form.

NOTE: You do not need to modify all sections in the Edit User form. You can selectively update areas by checking the corresponding checkboxes next to each section. Only the sections with the checkboxes selected will be overwritten.
In the example below, only the Standard Reports will be updated, as it is the only section with the checkbox selected. All other permissions will remain unchanged.

Role and App Permissions
"App permissions" are directly related to “Roles.” Roles determine what App Permissions are available to assign. In order to bulk edit the App Permissions section you must first select a role to assign to the selected users.
To bulk edit Roles and App Permissions start by selecting either the Admin or Basic role. After selecting the Role, click the checkbox next to “Role” to tell the system to update all selected users to this role.
NOTE: If Admin users are changed to Basic users they will lose access to any prior Admin-specific App Permissions.
After selecting the role, select the App Permissions you want to assign to users.
NOTE: No App Permissions are selected by default when bulk editing. You will need to select the specific App Permissions to provide to users.

Standard Reports
To bulk edit the Standard Reports available for the selected users, click the checkbox next to 'Standard Reports,' then select the reports to assign to these users.
In the example below, all selected users will be given access to the Assignment Progress Report and the Assignment Listing Report. Any selected user who had prior access to the Student Listing Report will no longer have access to that report.

Custom Reports
To bulk edit the Custom Reports Datasets available for the selected users, click the checkbox next to 'Custom Reports Datasets,' then select the datasets to assign to these users.
In the example below, all selected users will be given access to Assignment Metadata and Assignment Progress data. Any selected user who had prior access to the Student Metadata will no longer have access to that dataset.

When you are finished making your selections click “Save.”
